From a very early age, I have been exploring the
realms of traditional and digital imagery. After high-school I spent
two years at the University of Wisconsin – Stout where I concentrated
in the fields of Multimedia and Photography. I later transferred
to the Cinematography program at Columbia College in Chicago and
completed my studies with a B.F.A. in Film and Video. I now work
professionally in the entertainment industry as an assistant camera,
camera operator, director of photography, and still photographer.
Assistant
Camera / Camera Operator
My history on a film set is predominately in the roles of Assistant
Camera and Camera Operator. The requirements of these positions are
very technically oriented and require diligence and a systematic approach
to make the shoot successful. I work hard to perform the jobs well
and feel that I am a trusted member of the Twin Cities film community.
I believe in maintaining good relationships with other camera crew
and work to support others in my industry. As for my personality –
I like to laugh and keep people relaxed. I lean towards optimism and
try to negotiate each shoot with a positive attitude while enjoying
my work.
Director
of Photography
Lighting and directing photography are at the core of my interests
in the world of motion picture and I pursue such opportunities whenever
possible. I have shot a variety of projects as DP and these experiences
have increased my passion for the work. When on a film set, I try
to study technique from established shooters and enhance my personal
knowledge of the art form. I am confident in my ability to create
captivating images and continue to work toward establishing myself
as an experienced and trustworthy Director of Photography.
Photographer
I transitioned into the world of motion picture from traditional photography.
Though my main area of interest is focused on moving imagery, my photographs
may help you understand how I look at the world through a lens. The
medium offers its own set of challenges and creativity. The combined
elements of lighting, movement, and time caught in a still frame can
be extended into a moving picture. My camera allows me to study the
world around me and learn the nuances of light and balance within
a frame.
